形態特徵

• Annual or biennial herb; stems decumbent at base, ascending upward, slender, glabrous, 10-30 cm long.
• Leaves linear to lanceolate, sometimes elliptic to obovate, 8-13 mm long, 2.5-4 mm wide, obtuse and mucronate at apex, attenuate and amplexicual at base, chartaceous, entire, 1-nerved, glabrous on both surfaces.
• Flowers solitary or in axillary cymes; bracts minute, white, membranous; pedicels 5-20 mm long; sepals broadly lanceolate or lanceolate, 2-4 mm long, acuminate, 1-nerved; petals white, deeply lobed, the lobes 2, lanceolate, 2-3.5 mm long, acute at apex, white.
• Capsules ellipsoid, as long as sepals, very thin, 3-valved; seeds reniform-orbicular, 0.6-0.7 mm across, blackish-brown, covered with low mammillae.

分布

• 台灣 : a common weed below 800 m throughout the island.
• 世界 : The tropical variety is widely distributed in temperate region of the northern hemisphere, the variety is distibuted in Korea, Japan, mainland China, the Ryukyus.
